Lewis Wagner, LLP is pleased to announce that Rich Blaiklock was named the 2017 Indianapolis Man of the Year by raising $266,775 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in ten weeks.

Rich and other candidates raised $1.1 million in a spirited, ten-week fundraising competition to benefit LLS. The campaign culminated with a Grand Finale Gala at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown on Saturday, May 13, 2017 attended by over 900 guests.

Rich has been involved with the Man & Woman of the Year campaign for five years, and was nominated to participate this year by past candidates. Rich received support from many corporate sponsors including Lewis Wagner LLP, Shepherd Insurance, Penn Station East Coast Subs, Ice Miller, LLP, Sponsel CPA Group, and Maginot, Moore & Beck, LLP. He held multiple fundraising events, such as an annual three-day Ice Hockey Tournament, a Pickleball Tournament, and guest-bartended at Sahm’s Place Restaurant.

Leukemia has closely touched Rich’s life; his father-in-law Phil Pflum, good friend Tom McCord, and a college friend’s five-year-old daughter are all blood cancer survivors. Rich dedicated his campaign to the memory of his father John, who passed away from chronic lymphocytic leukemia in October 2016.

Rich focuses his legal practice on representing individuals and businesses in variety of commercial areas, including contract disputes, shareholder/owner disputes, trade secret and non-competes, auto supply chain issues, business and real estate transactions, business succession planning, regulatory matters and commercial litigation. He has experience litigating multi-million dollar disputes, with trial and appellate experience in those disputes. He has experience representing manufacturers in stop-ship situations, and he has successfully obtained injunction orders preventing suppliers from termination ongoing product supply. Rich also represents the Indiana Department of Insurance, Patients Compensation Fund, in tort and coverage cases. He has written and published law review articles on corporate law, appellate practice, and constitutional issues.
